Modules and the Curriculum
Our Science Modules are designed to assist you by covering a large number of the different subjects that you are required to teach according to the National Curriculum over the academic year. These are prefect for cross curricular activities and also hit all the targets that the QCA are promoting with their “Global Dimension” program.
Teachers can elect for their students to follow the working of a module via the Internet and not actually be involved in the field research. This is a form of distance learning where the schools undertaking the Module will update the YES website as they progress. If you decide to take this option you will be sent all the relevant information on which Curriculum subjects the module covers and how this can be brought into the classroom.
For some distance learning modules separate arrangements can be made to have the Mentor come and visit your school however schools that are undertaking the full module will have first choice of the Mentors time.
Modules
We have a wide range of Modules that cover different research projects around the world. These modules are all on going projects and schools can take part at most times of year depending on the chosen Module. All of the Modules that are on t his website have capacity to take on more schools at this present time, please enquire about the module you would like to undertake for more information.
The Science that you will get to play a role in is real science as the projects are well established and not something that you try and complete in a week’s visit. This gives students a much better insight to the challenges that are being dealt with everyday

Here at YES we have digitised the National Curriculum and matched all the subject headings of Biology, Chemistry and Physics and then cross referenced these with what each science module will either fully cover or touch on. We are providing a channel to teach STEM subjects in interesting and different ways to invigorate students and get them to want to learn.
This is how our Science Modules score against the UK curriculum at the different Key Stages

Time Frames and costs will need to be agreed as some Modules cannot be done all year around. Please see the “how it works” section for more details on the Full Participation and Mentor Modules operate.
